Frequently Asked Questions

December 8, 2008 by mozziesafe

FAQ Have a question about mozziesafe? This section will answer most of them.

Is there a minimum that I can donate?
No, you can donate as little or as much as you want. However, you should be aware that the cost for one net is US$10.

Why do the nets cost so much? Surely you can get them cheaper.
US$10 pays for many other things besides the physical net. Other costs that have been factored in include shipping from the manufacturer, shipping to the recipient’s destination, packaging, printing of educational leaflets and posters that go into the boxes, warehousing, and other incidental charges. Boxes designated for malaria endemic regions will also include malaria medication.

How many nets are there in a box?
Each mozziesafe box contains 10 nets, as well as educational leaflets and posters.

We wish to co-brand (have our logo printed on the boxes). Is this possible?
Yes, this is possible with a minimum order of 30 boxes or more. Contact us for more information.

How can we request for nets?
Currently, only Rotary Clubs, Rotary Districts or accredited NGOs can request for nets. Generally, to be accredited, a non-Rotary NGO should be an established and internationally recognised organization operating in 10 countries or more. Contact us and we will send you the relevant documents to make a request.

Once the mozziesafe boxes arrive at their destination, what happens?
Our partner Rotary Club or NGO will assist in the distribution of the nets.
mozziesafe has always been more than just nets. They will then conduct an educational session on how to avoid or reduce the chances of infection by mosquitoes. Our partners will then report back to us.

We are a Rotary Club in a mosquito endemic country. How can we be a partner Club and what are our responsibilities?
You can apply to be an official
mozziesafe representative from your country or region. Your work will include coordinating mosquito net requests and distribution efforts, fundraising and translating educational materials into your local language. Contact us for more information.

We are not from a mosquito endemic country, how can we get involved?
There are many ways that you can help. You can raise awareness of the
mozziesafe project in your community, school, college or workplace. You can also help raise funds to pay for nets for needy communities around the world.

We wish to purchase nets from you but distribute them ourselves. Is this possible?
Yes it is, provided that the mozziesafe branding is left unchanged on the box. Contact us for more details.

How is mozziesafe different from other mosquito netting projects?
mozziesafe is the only mosquito netting and education project that addresses the netting needs for both malaria and dengue endemic areas. We believe that just giving nets alone is not enough – and that education must be part of the process. The need for mosquito nets is monumental. Every organization and project that deals with mosquito netting is needed to help save lives in many areas around the world, and we believe that all should be supported.

Is it possible for me to find out the location of where my nets will go?
It is not possible for us to show tracking of individual nets. However, it is possible for us to track individual boxes. The tracking facility will be available on our website when it is ready.

Is it possible for us to request for nets in a time of emergency such as a natural disaster like floods or an earthquake?
Yes, it is possible for emergency request. However, only Rotary Clubs, Rotary Districts or accredited NGOs can request for nets. Contact your local Rotary Club in a time of disaster for assistance.
